Courageous Kidz - A Safe Haven for Kids with Cancer

COOKIE-RAMA Kids and counselors come together to bake Christmas cookies with the director. A full day of mixing the dough, cutting out shapes, baking cookies and decorating them allows children to experience the normal joy of the holiday under their not-so-normal circumstances. Kids decorate their cookies while counselors entertain them with loving conversations, turning a simple tradition into a day of laughter and support.

A MILE OF SMILES For special occasions, such as birthdays, weddings or showers, we provide an extra celebration that serves as a pick-me-up for both the child and the family. These might include a surprise meal delivered to the hospital, or a cookie or balloon bouquet to brighten a child’s day.

FUN DAYZ Fun Dayz were created as a pick-me-up for children undergoing unrelenting cancer treatments. This special day includes a shopping spree at their favorite store, a special meal at the restaurant of their choice, and a surprise limo ride to an unexpected activity that could be anything from a movie to a Cinderella tea party to ice skating. The entire family is invigorated with a day away from the grueling rigors of cancer.

CELEBRATIONS! Field trips are provided on an as-needed basis for children under special circumstances. These might include:

1. Pottery making
2. 5/1/4/ jump
3. Easter egg hunt
4. Tour of the newspaper
5. Stingray events
6. Surfing lessons at Folly Beach
7. Tour of a C-17
8. Savannah River Plant tour
9. Pizza pizazzzzzzz movies
10. Baseball game
11. Slumber party/make up your counselor/fashion show
12. Boat trip
13. Bowling
